Ek vra vreeslik om verskoning, want ek is jou nog ‘n antwoord skuldig rondom my bakkie se registrasienommer.

Ek het weer baie gebid hieroor en leiding gevra. Ek het gesprekke met verskillende dominees en pastore gevoer asook die internet gebruik en ek glo die Here het op hierdie manier my antwoord vir my gegee.

Kom ek gee eerste die slotsom en dan verduidelik ek. Ons hoef nie die 666 te vrees nie. God het reeds die duiwel oorwin. My nommerplaat bring nie die duiwel in my lewe of ons lewens in nie. Celia het egter gevoel dat aangesien dit mense rondom my ongemaklik maak ek dit liewer moet verander. Sonder om Celia se opmerking te noem het een Dominee dieselfde gesê. “As jy nie waarde aan die 3-syfer nommerplaat heg nie, verander dit eerder ter wille van ander.”

Aangesien ek dus steeds volhou dat daar niks fout is om so ‘n nommerplaat te hê nie en daar kostes aan verbonde is om dit nou net te gaan verander het ek besluit om dit eers te hou, maar ook onderneem om wanneer ek weer ‘n nuwe voertuig koop ek nie weer die nommer sal oorkoop nie en ‘n gewone nommer sal aanvaar.

Aanvaar asb. dat bogenoemde met groot liefde en deernis geskryf is.

DAAROPVOLGEND:

Na nog mense my weer oor hul ontevredenheid met my nommerplaat genader het, het ek tog besluit om uit te vind wat dit sal kos? My verbasing was groot toe ek verneem dat dit slegs R65 beloop en het besluit om nie te wag vir ‘n nuwe voertuig, maar om reeds my registrasie nommer te verander.

Die dag by die verkeersafdeling is ek dan toe nog verder verras, nie deur te verneem dat dit einlik net R50 kos nie, maar iets met hul stelsel of kasregister fout is en dat ek dit nou gratis kry.

This has nothing to do with bar codes, debit cards, microchips and modern technology–although all of things may be enlisted by the false prophet in service to the Beast. The mark of the beast and the number 666 has to do with the beast and false prophet forcing people to acknowledge that the state and its ruler are divine. The mark was present when someone in John’s day confessed “Caesar is Lord” and worshiped his image in some symbolic way so as to buy and sell. The mark of the beast is seen in news reels when German school children sing “Hitler is our savior, Hitler is our Lord.” It is not a phenomena limited to a future tribulation. The mark of the beast and the number “666″ is the tell-tail sign of our enemy Satan and his two henchman, the beast (the state) and the false prophet (the beast’s spokesman).

Beloved, we are the people of God. We need not fear the dragon, the beast or the false prophet. We need not fear their mark. For we are sealed with the name of God and of his Christ in our baptism. Our hope is not to escape from our enemies through a secret rapture, but as our baptismal liturgy puts it, we are to manfully fight against and overcome sin, the Devil and his whole dominion. And our weapon against the beast and the false prophet is the truth of God’s word–the law and gospel–which exposes all Satanic deception and reminds the world that “666″ is but the number of a man. And what can men do to the church of Jesus Christ?

Because the Bible reveals so little about the number 666 it is unwise for me to speculate. The important thing is that anyone who is not Christ’s is susceptible to this beast and the Antichrist but those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life have nothing to fear from the beast nor anything to worry about the number 666 and having the mark of the beast be on them (Rev 13:8).

Honestly, it is simply insane how some people get about this number. It doesn't even have to refer to any of the above. Apparently, people went crazy before and during the year 666 A.D. Did you know that if you take the 9's in the year 1999 and invert them, you have 666? Did you know that the year 2000 divided by 3 is 666.6666...? Did you know that the 1st 36 numbers (1-36) total 666? The numbers on a roulette wheel total 666.

If you have ever worked at a place that uses a cash register, you know how many people go crazy when a total purchase equals $6.66. (They will often buy something else to change the price.) There is a popular pizza chain in our city that used to have an offering that would total $6.66 with tax. The waiter told me that they had to change the menu price by a penny because it bothered people so much. People even have house addresses, license plates, id numbers, etc... changed if they have 666 in them.

There is supposedly even a name for the fear of this number: hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia!

Friends, whoever or whatever this number represents, as Christians we need have NO fear because we know the ending of the story: GOD WINS!
